The courage behind change

I write this as I reflect on my mother and her migratory journey. I write this and think of the two wonderful women I interviewed a few years ago for the mini-documentary I created about those who migrate in their later years. In this 10-minute short film, I captured the stories of two women who decided to embark on a one-way journey. Iria Diaz Baute's story reflects the profound challenges that many face due to circumstances beyond our control, such as illness. Doris Torres, on the other hand, exemplifies the determination to start anew. (Available for English speakers)

I am a lover of change, for me, change brings transformation and possibilities, even though navigating them often requires deep breaths to avoid drowning. There's a coworker who tells me he detests change, that for him, it's one of the hardest things in life. Some people are paralyzed by the risks that come with change, and this paralysis prevents them from seeing possibilities or even considering the opportunities that can come after change.
I believe I learned to be courageous in the face of change thanks to my mother, who has always moved forward to grow, evolve, and become a better version of herself for us and for herself. Despite her age, she continues to make changes in pursuit of the life she knows she deserves. My mother has always embraced our changes and hasn't influenced us but instead has put her trust in us.
Dear Mom, today I write to you to express gratitude for your courage. You are a woman of light with the ability to shine wherever you go. So, don't be afraid of the changes that still exist in your 60s. That means you're as alive as a flower that needs to shed the petals that no longer serve it.

Today, I write to all those people who are experiencing transformative changes. Give your best, listen to yourself, take care of yourself throughout the process, seek out people who have already walked the path you're just beginning. Be kind, establish daily practices that help maintain your vitality, speak kindly to yourself, and remember that there's a perfect plan for you. If you're doing everything from your own authenticity, your values, and if you're following your intuition, what could go wrong?
After the last women's circle, on Saturday night, I couldn't stop thanking myself for listening to my intuition and for everything that this journey I'm on has entailed. Every change has been worth it.
Paper that I wrote while working in the food truck the 20/01/22

Embrace the change and transform into your best version. Age is just a number, but there's a life waiting to be lived.
What's that change you need to make but haven't dared? What lies behind the fear of change? Where could you be in three years if you didn't make that change? How can we, as a community, have a positive impact on the lives of those who embark on paths like migrating in their 60s?

Wonderful post! It is interesting to think how both external AND internal forces can drive change. And change sometimes occurs whether we want it to happen or not. It is inevitable, so, like you said, "embrace the change."
Woooow! Me encantó y me tocó el alma❤️. Mi mama sin duda es mi súper héroe, solo siendo ella misma.
